[vine-users:063975] DVD-R をマシン内蔵の DVD-ROM で mount したい。 (Vine Linux 2.6r3)

お世話になります。上田と申します。
以下の事象についてアドバイス頂ければ幸いです。

【現状と希望】
 現状:
  家庭用DVDレコーダで作成したDVD-Rを
 Linuxマシンに内蔵されたDVD-ROMでmountしたい。
 mount /mnt/cdromとタイプするが”メディアが
  見つかりません”と出力される。

 希望:
 Linuxマシンに内蔵されたDVD-ROMでmountするために
現状の切り分け方法または解決方法のアドバイスを
お願いしたい。 

【希望が実現可能と考える根拠】
 (1)JFのCDROM-HOWTO.txtに利用可能と記述がある。
  (2)linux-usersメーリングリスト内でもideの
     転送モードがpioでない場合の不具合しか報告がない
  (3)REDHAT8で失敗する事はあるものの
     時々mount出来ていた
  (4)fEDORA CORE 1でmount出来ていた

【Vineで確認したこと(rootユーザで実施)】
 1./etc/fstabの内容確認
 2.dmesgの出力確認:
 3.容量の大きなCDROMとしてmountできるか?
  # mount /mnt/cdrom
    mount: メディアが見つかりません
(dmesg確認)

 4.コマンドラインからオプションをかえて試す(失敗)
  mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
