堀田@長崎市です。

ウチの職場に HP ProLiant DL360/DL380 G3 というマシンが何台かあり
まして、当初 RHEL3/2 で構築されていたのですが、管理上の都合により
随時 Vine Linuxに置き換え中です。

これには Compaq SMART Array Controllers というものが積まれており、
さらにこれにテープドライブが接続されているのですが、 Vine 謹製の
カーネルではこのテープドライブが使えないようです。

/usr/src/linux/Documentation/cciss.txt を参照し、

  CONFIG_CISS_SCSI_TAPE=y

というカーネルビルドオプションを有効にしてビルドしたら問題なく認
識したので、今後カーネルを上げる機会がありましたら、このオプショ
ンを有効にすることをご検討いただければと思います。ちょっと微妙な
タイミングではありますが、要望として上げさせていただきます。

参考までに、dmesg の結果をつけます。よろしくお願いします。
