Vine49-alpha-x86_64-20090610.isoを使用してみましたので、状況について
レポートします。詳しい調査をしていませんので、私の設定上の問題も
有るかと思いますが、御容赦下さい。
環境
CPU : Phenom II X4 940
Chip : AMD 780G + SB700
VGA : ATI Radeon X1900 GT

○ Google Earth 5.0
起動後、[ drmRadeonCmdBuffer: -22 ]というメッセージを表示して、
すぐに落ちます。何回が試すと、まれに起動して正常動作する事が
有ります。
以下のように、表示されているのでDRIは動作しているようです。
$ glxinfo | grep direct
direct rendering: Yes
さっと調べてみた感じでは、DRIが32Bitのままな場合、メモリアクセス
上のトラブルで同様のメッセージが出る事が有るらしいとの記述を見付け
ましたが、詳細は未確認です。
○ checkinstall
以下のようなメッセージを出力して動作しませんでした。

○ ATIの純正ドライバ
ati-driver-installer-9-3-x86.x86_64.run
以下のようなメッセージを出力してインストーラが起動しませんでした。

カーネルのバージョンがサポート対象外のようですので、元々ダメ
なのかもしれません。
○ namedが起動していない
起動時にnamedが起動に失敗しているようで、名前解決が出来ません
でした。一応、/var/log/messagesは以下のようになっていて、namedは
起動しているように見えるのですが、実際は起動していないらしく、
[ ./named start ]と手動で起動させると、起動します。
