Vine 5.1 i386 及び x86_64 環境にて上記コマンドを実行したところ、以下のよ
うなメッセージが出力されました。

「Unable to connect to remote host」というメッセージが出力されて終了して
しまうのは、プログラムのバグではなく、whois(jwhois) を実行している端末か
ら whois.jprs.jp のポート43番に TCP 接続できていないからではないでしょう
か？ wireshark 等で接続していることを確認してみてください。
