谷村さん、度々ご教示ありがとうございます。

私のemacsは、 emacs-21.3.tar.gz とleim-21.3.tar.gzとapel-10.6.tar.gzを
それぞれ自分でinstallしたものです。 versionは、

taq@kiki[~] emacs --version                                   
GNU Emacs 21.3.1
Copyright (C) 2002 Free Software Foundation, Inc.

これのemacs画面表示で、字の輪郭がにじみ、英文のcommaとperiodが区別で
きないので、助けを求めたわけです。これは色川さんのご教示で、

$ xinit -- -dpi 100 RET

で解決しました。

ただ、もう1つの 日本語モードの問題が解けないのです。色川さんが示された
解決法の1つが、emacs-21.3.50のinstallですので、それのsourceを探してい
るのですが、見当たりません。
