情報が少なくて失礼しました。いま最小限の構成でインストールしたところ、
なんとか立ち上がったので、dmesgとlspciのログを載せておきます。マザーボー
ドはGIGABYTE GA-7VTXです。

このマシンに今回始めてインストールしたのではなく、2年程実用していたも
のです。ディスクエラーが頻発したため再インストールしようとしてこけまし
た。

同じマシンです。hdaに別のHDDを接続してXPをインストールし、そちらのMBR 
にliloを入れてデュアルブートしていました。トラブル防止のため、XPではセ
カンダリIDEコントローラを無効にして、Linux側を見えないようにしていまし
た。
