梅田です。 古い自作マシンをすっかり新しくしました。 自作したマシンにLinuxを入れたい方も多い と思います。使ったマザーボードは GYGABYTE社製マザーボード GA-G31M-S2L Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 (Intel GMA 3100)をオンボード IntelR G31 + ICH7 Chipset で、インストールはGUIですんなり出来ました。 しかし、インストールが終わって再起動したら 以下のメッセージが出て、GUIが起動出来なく なりました。これから自作を検討される方、 上記のマザーはVineがGUIで動きませんので 避けた方が宜しいかと存じます。 さて、起動してみると、以下のメッセージが出ました。 対処方法をご教授頂ければと存じます。大分、長いの ですが、引用します。 Failed to start the X server.It is likely that it is not setup correctly. Woud you liketo viw the X server out put to diagn- ose the problem? <yes> Would you like to the view the detailed X server out put as well? <yes> Would you likre to try to configre the X serv -er? Note that you will need the root password for this <yes> password:********* This program will create a basic xorg.conf file,based on menu selections you make. The xorg.conf file usually reside in /user/X11R6/lib/X11 or /etc/X11. A sample xorg.conf file isx supplyed with XOrg; it is counfigured for a standard VGA card and monitor with 640*480 resolution. You can either take the sample xorg.conf as a base and edit it for your configuration ,or let This program produce a base xorg.conf file for your configuration and fine-tune it. Refer to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/README.config for a detaled overviw of the configration process. For accelerated servers(including accelerated drivers in the SVGAserver),tehere are many chipset and card- specific options and settings must be aspecified.Refer to the server man pages and chpset -specific README's. Before continuing with this program, make sure you know the chipset and amount of video memory on your video card. SuperPrbe can help with this. Most modern PCI video cards can be probed,and Xconfigurator will automatically determ the best video mode/color depth possible for your system. there is a chance, however , this could lock up your system. If probed , answer "Don't Probe" to the following question. <Don't Probe> How much Video Memory do you have? メーカーのHPで調べましたが、分かり ませんでした。デフォルトの１MBを選 びました。 <Which ClockChip do you have?> 一つ、一つ選び、全ての組み合わせを試したのですが、 駄目でした。無駄とは思いながら、BIOSもアップデー トしました。Xの最新版等をダウンロードしインストー ルする方が良いでしょうか。それとも、バージョンア ップが近いうちに有ると思うので、最新版を待つ方が 良いでしょうか。何か解決策が有ればお願い致します。 梅田 -- Lawrence <lawrence999vz@xxxxxxxxx>
