飯田と申します。

Vine2.6r1(FTP)に swatch 3.05 を入れようとしています。

↑を参考にしています。

swatch 3.0.5の READMEにある
>It now requires perl 5 and the following modules: 
>Time::HiRes, Date::Calc,Date::Format, and File::Tail.
に基づいて perlモジュールを追加しまして、
# perl MakeFile.PL
# make
# make test
# make install
としました。
# swatch --v 
で、バージョン表記が出ますから、
インストール自体はできている（はず）です。
次に sawtch 3.0.0以降用記述形式で /etc/.swatchrc 設定ファイルを
書きました。

で、
# swatch -c /etc/.swatchrc -t /var/log/messages & 
とやったら、

/usr/bin/tail: -f: そのようなファイルやディレクトリはありません
とエラーが返ってきます。

どのあたりを調べればよいのでしょうか？　ご教示お願いします。
