はじめまして。糠山誠一といいます。
ノートPCにVineLinuxを入れています。
無線LANカード IO-DATA WN-G54/CB3 を購入しましたが、
うまく動作できません。
madwifi をインストールして、modprobe ath_pci とすると、
/var/log/messages に
ath%%d: unable to attach hardware; HAL status 13
というログが出ます。
「デバイス ath0 を作れない」という意味だろうなあと
思います。
このメーリングリストをいろいろ検索して、
たどりついたのが、madwifi です。最初は make も
エラーが出て、できませんでした。
ご助言をお願いいたします。
以下、ぼくのやったこと。

Vine3.1 にアップグレード
kernel-2.4.27-0vl7.2 にアップグレード。
make xconfig にて、
"Cryptographic options"
"Cryptographic API" --> y
"HMAC support" --> y
"MD5 digest algorithm" --> y
"AES cipher algorithms" --> y
"Crypto Hardware support" --> y
kernel を make して、インストール。
madwifi を
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:/cvsroot/madwifi co madwifi
で取得。
cd madwifi; make; make install の後、
modprobe ath_pci とすると、
