鈴木です。
アドバイスをありがとうございます。

1024x480でもいいと思ってやってみましたが、やっぱり画面は
1024x768として扱ってしまっていて、下半分が切れちゃうのです。

C1が好きだけど、この変なところが辛いです。いいところが、
「辛い」のかもしれませんけど、、、、

今の私の「xorg.conf」は次のようになっています。
liloは野宮様の意見にしたがったままとなっています。<=この情報はすごく嬉しかった。

1024x768のvirtualでなく1024x480でもよろしければ、
Section "Device" に
Option "override_validate_mode"
を追加、
Section "Screen" には
Modes "1024x480"
で如何でしょうか。
